OPTIC NEURITIS

DESCRIPTION
Optic neuritis is inflammation and/or swelling to the optic nerve that typically affects young people. This causes a sudden and painless decrease in vision
SYMPTOMS
• sudden or gradual loss of vision in one eye
• blurry vision
• dim vision
• colors appearing dull and faded
• pain behind the eye or with eye movements
EVALUATION PROCESS
A dilated eye exam will be necessary to determine if optic neuritis is present. Visual field testing, photographs and computer imaging may also be required at the time of your consultation.
