Pediatrics and Binocular Vision
The Dr. Robert and Lena Lewenson Center for Pediatric and Binocular Vision
At IEI, we believe every child deserves to see their world clearly. Our specialists blend advanced technology with a gentle, patient-centered approach to provide personalized care for every stage of growth. From non-verbal infants to active teens, we tailor every exam to ensure your child feels comfortable.
Vision is the foundation of how a child learns, plays, and grows. By identifying vision issues early, we work to maximize their academic potential and developmental progress. Using state-of-the-art diagnostics, our team identifies visual issues with precision, giving your child the best start for a lifetime of healthy sight.
Pediatrics
The combination of experienced optometric specialists, advanced diagnostic procedures and a wide range of examination techniques allows IEI physicians to tailor every pediatric vision evaluation for children, even if they aren’t yet talking. We make sure each child, whether an infant or a teenager, feels comfortable with any examination or treatment.
Pediatric vision testing considers children’s all-around development— after all, the sooner eye problems in children are identified, the less likely they are to hamper physical, emotional and academic progress. A number of advanced diagnostic tests are used to pinpoint the exact nature of any vision problem.

Binocular Vision
Binocular Vision (visual coordination) goes beyond clarity and 20/20 vision. Good vision and visual function requires that the two eyes to move, align, and focus as one. When they don't, even simple tasks like reading or computer use can become exhausting. At IEI, we look beyond basic eyesight to test your visual coordination.
By measuring how your eyes align and track together, we can identify issues like strabismus, double vision or eye strain. These assessments allow us to provide targeted treatments—such as specialized lenses or vision therapy—for both children and adults.

Vision Therapy
Vision Therapy is like physical therapy for theeyes and visual system. It uses supervised, customized eye exercises designed to "retrain" how the eyes and brain work together and perform more efficiently. Many vision problems are not from blurry eyesight, but from difficulties with tracking, alignment, or processing visual information. Vision therapy strengthens these skills to improve reading, academic performance, athletic ability, and overall visually comfort.
